Random SuperSaints thoughts on the brothers thingy.

The Winchester bros and the MacManus bros have a lot in common. They love each other, they’d die to save each other, they’d do anything for each other. But there are quite some differences.
fights
I’m not saying Sam and Dean love each other less, but I just can’t imagine anything could ever ever make Connor and Murphy fight. I mean the way Sam and Dean did in S4. I mean we see Conphy fight over the rope and Connor’s stupid ideas but other than that? I hope a real proper fight between them never ever happens. I hope they’ll be always so inseparable. I mean there’s always this certain tension between Sam and Dean. Or there was. It built up. Most of the time Sam has trouble with Dean playing the big brother and there’s a lot of conversations and discussions going on but Connor and Murphy? I think it’s because they’re twins and they don’t know who’s the oldest (although I do think Connor feels like he’s the older one, the way he’s superduper protective over Murphy). It’s like they don’t even need words when they’re alone. You can see how quiet they are at the beginning of BDS II. All they ever do is exchange glances and they know what the other’s thinking. Sam and Dean do that too, but it’s even more hardcore between the two MacManus’ bros.

So the difference between the Connor/Murphy and Sam/Dean is that the Winchesters are sooo passionate and full of emotion, whether it’s fear, desperation, need for each other or even hatred whereas the MacManus bros are so used to each other, and they’re pretty much acting like one soul/body, that they are so comfortable with each other that they don’t even need to express their emotions in such a rough way the way Sam/Dean do. They only ever have a complete break down and show their true passion/emotion when the other’s in danger (toilet scene! Connor’s going absolutely bonkers!)

And what I noticed whenever it comes down to brother touching: Whenever Sam and Dean touch or hug it’s so full of emotion. Like they can’t believe the other’s there or they need to feel that the other’s still there. It’s always so powerful. Sometimes even violent (the big fight at the end of s4). You have those big hugs and grabbing shoulders and slaps and punches. And whenever Connor and Murphy touch it’s always so gentle and subtle. Like standing shoulder to shoulder/back to back all the time, a gentle tap on the arm, stroking a shoulder/back/hand, bumping into each other. They’re standing freakishly close to each other anyway. Most of the time it looks like they just want to be one (in a not slashy way if you don’t like that). It’s not because they’re afraid they could lose each other any minute. It’s more like it makes them both feel stronger and they just adore each other in general.
independency/relationships
Whereas they are like two pieces of a whole Sam and Dean are a bit like opposites that need each other nevertheless, but they can cope on their own. I mean they spent quite some time on their own before s1. And the biggest difference: Sam and Dean are also able to be in relationships (of some sort). They fell in love with women, they spent some time with women when they weren’t together. I don’t think Connor and Murphy are physically able to do be apart. Nor do I think they’re very interested in relationships. It always looks like all they ever really need is religion and each other. I just can’t imagine Connor having a wife and a kid and Murphy’s not there with him.

So now this essay was rather crap and I don’t think I got it across the way I wanted. So to sum up: Winchesters= emotion, passion, tension, loud….MacManus’= dependency, 1/2+1/2=1, adoration, the need to be physically close to each other, quiet and soft. (but they’re loud and rough and tough to other people)

What if demons made the two most loving big brothers face each other in order to protect their little brothers? What if demons forced Connor MacManus, who’d never harm an innocent good man, to kill Dean Winchester?

What if Susan read too much SPN/BDS crossover fanfiction?
What if Susan listened to her Saw II soundtrack while washing up, heard this song and thought “omg that is so perfect for a BDS/SPN demons crossover”?
What if Susan spent hours on making Eunice’s and Connor’s eyes all demon-y?
